FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 1, 2010
QUINCY, Illinois (October 1, 2010) — Has your relationship with your technology soured? Quincy native Tom Cane of Cane Technical Consulting Group wants to help you mend that split and save your business from the painful effects of a divorce between your technology and your goals.
“Both sides feel like they’re being ignored, put-upon by the other team,†said Tom Cane, principal at Cane Technical Consulting Group. “Often the IT folks think management isn’t aware of the technical difficulties and expenses they face, while management feels like their IT department is a sinkhole of time and money. Generally, neither is the case.â€
What Cane brings to the table is his team of “honest brokers†with world-class knowledge of all phases of IT planning, purchase, implementation and evaluation. “I don’t have a dog in this fight,†Cane said. “My goal is to find the right mix of technology, investment and personnel to get the job done, period.â€
Tom Cane began his IT career in Quincy, starting and selling Basic Communications, Ltd in the early nineties. He was also instrumental in designing the operating networks at Rivernet, Adams Net and Kirlins SuperNet.
After nearly a decade as Senior Field Engineer for Alcatel, a leading provider of IT services and consultation for enterprises and defense agencies, Cane decided to return to Quincy and give back to the community that gave him his start.
Marrying community involvement with a profit-making business is important to Cane. “Quincy has been good to me, and I want to return the favor. I’m open to listening to any way I can help the community with its IT challenges.â€
